Cute Little Greeting Card Kids

Good afternoon!  I must admit that I have hardly had time to make it into my stampin' room lately.  I have been working on our house (yes still, and for a long time yet) and also because I have been continuing with my love affair with reading.  I have been so enthralled with books lately, I think it has something to do with the ease up picking it up and putting it down, whereas I hate to get interrupted while creating a srap page or something.  I do have a page on the go, but have yet to complete it.  This card I made quite a few days ago and completely forgot to shar it.  I know it is a little early for Christmas cards yet, but I wanted to play around with the cute little set Greeting Card kids, and hence the Xmas card.  I have also used the new series of Christmassy DSP called Holly Jolly (??).  I have been so out of touch with the whole stampin' world that I can't even remember the names of my supplies anymore (ouch!).  So I will leave it as that so that I don't butcher anymore names.  If you want to inquire about something please feel free and I will look up the names of the supplies, and colours, used.  I do remember that I watercoloured on Very Vanilla cardstock using black Staz On ink, aqua painters and Classic Ink Pads.  Hope you are having a good day, the sun is shining on us now, we did really need the rain though.  E

As Promised Another Playdate!

Good evening all!  As I promised yesterday my next project would contain more pieces from the Playdate series.  This one, Daddy's Little Helper, just called for the fun and whimsical paper, not only because of the colours in the photos, but also because of the theme.  The photos were taken last October (and, yes I am waaaay behind on my scrappin'), and I thought they were so cute.  It is rare that daddy and Ryan have time to spend together, Sean must have been at school.  The colours used are: Kraft (base), Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive (love, love, love this combo!).  The lettering was done using the Big Shot and the Simple Letters alphabet dies.  The scalloped border is a self adhesive border strip from the Playdate accessories that I punched with the scallop border punch.  I also sprayed some shimmer mist or glimmer mist whatever it is called on the two edges.  I don't know if it is me or not but the ease of use on this product not so good.  I'm sure with practice I will like the results better.  So, to cover my mistake, I added a chipboard tree that I coloured with classic inkpads and ran through my texturz plates.  To jazz up the tree I added some of the Playground buttons, which are retired but most of the colours are featured in the Brights button collection (a highly recommended purchase!).  A page just isn't a page without buttons!  Anyway that's my ranting and raving for the evening.  Hope you all have a great Friday!  C U soon!  E

Playing with Playdate

Hi all!  I'm back with another post using the Playdate series of DSP from Stampin' Up!  Can I tell you how much I love this series?  I have only carved into one sheet of this paper so far and have made a teacher gift, a reading journal for my sister (shown here), and I have started a scrappin' page which will probably be my next post.  When I'm done my scrappin' page I will still have a piece big enough from this same sheet of paper to make a card.  Speaking of which, I donated 16 cards and envelopes today to a fundraiser event.  I took them all out of my stash of about a million cards.  Does this mean I get to make 16 more to replace them?  Tee hee.

Now on to today's project.  Like I mentioned earlier, I used the Playdate series of DSP on this little number.  I purchased the mini journal at Dollarama (and I can't find them there anymore
:( ).  They came in a package of four for $1, so if anyone sees any, either pick up a package or two for me, or let me know the location so that I can rush out and get some.  The "pinky" dotted piece of paper is the reverse side of the adorable flowers so I really did use only one sheet.  I used my corner rounder punch on opposite corners to make the focal piece on which I stamped in Old Olive the stem from the hostess level 2 set Apple Blossoms and in Chocolate Chip a definition from the Define your Life stamp set.  The flower was done using the zinnia flower stamp from the Apple Blossoms set stamped multiple times and then hand cut and layered.  The flower shaped button (from the Brights collection of buttons) has been attached using a glue dot.  Can anyone guess what I tied the button with?  That's right, garage string.  I {HEART}X infinity the new collections of buttons (I bought them all, but don't tell my husband...lol).  Oh p.s. I attached the DSP to the journal using Tombow glue (I also heart that stuff).

Wow that was a great post.  I'm starting to get back into the swing of things, and my posts are making more sense.  Wishing you a great evening, be back soon!  E

My Brother's Birthday Bliss

Hi there!  Welcome again!  Back in August my baby brother turned 30.  I made him this card using some of the new SU! DSP.  I bought alot of it.  I had to place a huge order just to keep myself active (shame, shame) but I definitely didn't want to lose my demonstratorship, and it just wasn't a good time for me to "solicit" business, so I had to do it myself (oh darn!).  I used a card base of Pacific Point, which was actually cardstock left over from when it retired, I didn't sell it luckily.  I added some DSP from the Celebrations pack which has Old Olive, Real Red, Bashful Blue and Pacific Point.  I accented with some Real Red arrows punched with the My Way punch and a button from the Brights collection.  Can I say that I am now a fan of the Brights colour family, yes you heard me correctly, I might actually have to say that it is now my favourite colour family.  I used the Birthday Bliss stamp set to create a focal piece, I stamped it in Pacific Point, cut it out (because I don't have the right punch) and then stamped it again in Real Red and cut out the greeting and two way glued it on.  I also used the spiral punch on the strip in the background.  I think this is a cute card.  Kinda manly, but fun.  I find, like so many other stampers, that man cards are so difficult to make.  I love this paper pack and the colour combination.  Hopefully something about this post inspires you, be sure to check out this awesome line of DSP, self adhesive die cuts and rub on transfers.  Take care!  E

Off to School

Good morning!  Just a quick post to show you my little family.  This was from the first day of school.  Everyone was excited that day.  We'll see how it continues.  My little guy started JK this year (boo hoo), and my oldest is in SK.  My goodness they are growing up way too fast!  Have a great day!  E

Apparently this didn't post when it was supposed to.  So without delay here it is.

It's been a while!

Hello All!  So obviously it has been a long time since I have blogged!  I don't even remember how to do it...LOL.  I have added this photo that should have been rotated but I didn't.  Ooopsydoodle.  I have been so overwhelmed by life lately that simple little things have totally slipped my mind, even some pretty important things like my son's end of the school year gift to his teacher.  I bought the cute teacher oriented stamp set from Stampin' Up! for her and decided to jazz it up a little.  I have used so many of the new supplies here, the Playdate DSP, the build an owl punch, and some of the new colour family buttons.  The tag is one that has been cut using my Big Shot and a Sissix die I have had for ages, the letter "t" however was also die cut using the new to me Bigz Alphabet Simple Letters available through SU!  Yes, I splurged and bought myself an expensive alphabet die set, and I'm so glad I did!  I have been creating in my head (as I always do) and will be using this alphabet for so many scrapbooking and home decor projects.  Have I told  you yet that I have moved?  Well we did!  It has been almost a month now and I am still in the middle of moving hell.  I still have boxes and objects without a home all over the place.  My husband keeps bugging me to hang pictures up and curtains as well but I am just having a hard time committing, seeing as how our walls are all freshly painted (not to mention that I want to hang new stuff as I am kinda tired of the old).  We still have so much work left to do...my stampin' area is now the former summer kitchen which is in dire need of some paint, the walls are a rust colour and the old cabinets are oak (not my fave) and it feels like a dungeon.  Soon enough I will get around to painting my space and making it pretty.  So my sincerest apologies for my absence but if any of you have ever moved into a fixer upper with children I'm sure you will understand why I have been so negligent with my stampin' duties.  Trust me when I say this, it was not because I have lost my passion, simply because I have lost my spare time and energy.  I hope you have a great day, I'll be back soon with another post and will hopefully be back to posting regularly soon!  E
